Aerospan Wins Flight International Aerospace Industry Award
Corporate strategy endorsement at premier aviation industry awards

PARIS INTERNATIONAL AIR SHOW, Le Bourget - 19 June 2001 - Aerospan.com - the dedicated, industry-owned e-marketplace from SITA - has won the Flight International Aerospace Industry Award for its focus on, and successful implementation of, corporate strategy. The award was presented at a gala dinner in Paris last night.

CEO of Aerospan, Duncan Alexander, said, "It is always great to have work recognised by our industry peers and we are delighted to receive this award for best corporate strategy. This endorses our strategy of addressing the needs of the whole community and taking a leading role in transforming e-business within the air transport industry. Together with our parent SITA we are helping to change the way in which e-business is conducted, reduce costs, and improve productivity."

This is the eighth year that the Flight International Aerospace Industry Awards have been held. The corporate strategy award goes to companies who have used innovation and good business practices, to either change the way that they are doing business, or to introduce new and challenging ways of working. It was presented following the final decision of a panel of judges made up of over 24 leading aerospace experts from around the world. "I saw this very much as SITA looking at how it could further develop its capabilities and a real strategic development on their part, but clearly meeting a need," said one judge.
